SIFU DEVIN WEAR
Owner and Head Instructor
Sifu Devin Wear holds the rank of 4th degree black belt in Kajukenbo. He is the owner and head instructor at NW Kajukenbo Club, and has been instructing adults and children for over 10 years. Devin began studying Kajukenbo at Seattle Kajukenbo in the Central District under Professor Melinda Johnson in 2002 when he was 8 years old. He earned his first black belt in 2011 at which point he began working as an assistant instructor. In 2013 he took on the roll of Sifu for several of the students at Seattle Kajukenbo, and in 2019 he promoted his first two students to black belt. Sifu Devin most recently was promoted to 4th degree in 2023.
In teaching, Sifu Devin aims to listen to the needs and interests of all students and uses this understanding to communicate the art as effectively as possible. His classes are physically engaging and are geared to challenge students to work to the best of their abilities.
He currently cross trains in Judo, and loves to weightlift.
